[ sure, he didn't exactly expect victor's trust - he and the old man had never exactly gotten along. (he was damn perceptive for his age. he'd always made harry feel uneasy, the way he saw through the bullshit without effort.) he hadn't been surprised when the old man had kicked up a fuss about him coming along, but he'd have to be even more senile than he already was to think flynn was going to let himself be left behind when they were seeking out shangri-la and dicking over lazarebitch on the way. there'd been protests, arguments made both by nate and chloe, and finally victor had relented.
except now harry's stuck babysitting the getaway car while nate and the old man go ahead, blow lazarevic's camp and get the info. it's hot as hell out here, and while at first it'd seemed like a blessing to not have to move in the damp heat, harry had gotten bored out of his mind. fast. not to mention twitchy, sniper rifle propped against a shoulder and eyes watching his surroundings for any signs of movement that weren't friendly faces.
there's books and notes scattered across the jeep's seats, things nate had left him with in an attempt to make harry feel more useful. a vain one, but kind of cute that he'd tried at all. either way harry's left tapping his feet against the vehicle's floor, listening to the conversations going back and forth across the channel, mostly nate and victor bantering with the occasional interjection from chloe. all he has to do is wait and it's the most godawful thing he's ever been put through. he bangs his head back against the headrest of the driver's seat, hums quietly to himself to break through the sounds of the jungle around him, some inane tune he doesn't pay attention to. just waiting. ]
